Day 4: Explore the Neighborhood
Today’s assignment: follow five new topics in the Reader, and begin finding blogs (and bloggers) you love.
The more I take part in this Zero to Hero challenge, the more I feel like this is a little too basic. I mean this is the kind of stuff I got done in the first day. Okay, maybe I didn’t get the introduction and stuff done but following other blogs and getting to know people… That I did a while ago. Do I honestly have to go around doing it again?
I got a better idea. I’m going to bend the rules a little so it fits for me. I’m going to talk about some of the friends I have made through blogging.
Firstly, I would like to give a big shout-out to SooCat. The first comment on my blog was received was from SooCat and also my first follower. That’s when I realised this might work and I got hope.
This guy has an awesome blog going with DailyAnimeArt. He doesn’t really need to involve himself with newcomers like me but he did. He offers me advice, gives me encouragement and always drops by. Thanks for all the help man. Truly appreciated.
My fellow procrastinator. She’s pretty cool and has a similar problem to me with procrastination. One day, we plan to be the founders of a helpline and support group for those that suffer from this horrible problem.
My fellow Otaku’s. These guys are always active on my blog and forever dropping by to leave me a nice comment. Appreciated you guys! Thanks for doing so. You guys are totally awesome!

These guys I met more recently and both are equally awesome. They are also part of the ani-blogging community that I recently found myself a part of. A big shout-out to them as well.
I met them more recently and although they aren’t part of the anime community, they are still awesome bloggers and I like talking to them. V writes great movie reviews… Amanda just started Vlogging… and Phil is just totally smart. I like his viewpoints because they are similar to mine; wanting to bring change to the world. I expect myself to have a blog similar to Phil’s in the future sometime.
So there you have it guys. These are my blogger friends, my neighbours and my supporters. Please visit their blogs as well if you are reading this. I’m sure you’ll like on or the other. A good mix.
I appreciate the shout out. Thanks. Keep up the good work.

Thanks for your shoutout! I like how you bent the rules a bit and wrote about the friends you already made on WordPress. I agree that some of the Zero to Hero assignments are too basic. There are many things that I discovered by myself while exploring WordPress since the first day.

I think they know they’re basic, they’re just trying to get us to ‘connect’, and it feels awkward and unnatural to me! Like forcing two people into a cupboard to to make out who don’t really like each other! lol

Haha I agree.

That my friend is an awesome way to put it! I keep telling myself to quit it but then I’m thinking, let’s complete it so that I can claim I am a committed son of a gun and can see things through. I have a habit of leaving things half done you see.

I procrastinate too, Shaki! A lot of people do! It’s just that people like us get it down to a fine art! 😉
Is it really worth seeing it through, though? I’m betting you’ve done most of their challenges anyway! But if ya feel it’ll make you more committed, then all the best to you, man!

Honestly… I’m just doing it for the sake of it now but I just want to see it out. I made a commitment and I want to see it out just to prove to myself that I can.

Cheers for the shout out Shaki! :O)
As you’ve noticed I’ve just started following you, that means you’re stuck with me, you brought this entirely on yourself btw! I will be commenting some of your blogs from time to time, as you know I can’t comment them all cos of other obligations and the fact I aint that into Anime. But I will be visiting! 🙂
There’s something you need to know about my blogs, Shaki, they can be very long! So bring a drink and a sammich when I do a non-personal one! 😉
I’ve given up now on the zero-to-hero challenge, having seen today’s challenge there’s nothing they’re going to offer me that I haven’t already done, unless it involves a free upgrade so I can dick around with CSS/coding and my own background and stuff, which they aint gonna do.
Anyway man, hope your week’s got off to a flying start! :O)

Indeed I noticed they can be very long. Lucky for me, I’ve got the WordPress App on my phone. I can use your blog as reading material when I do my business. That’s when I’ve really got my thinking cap on so I can make good use of it.
Its quality stuff you right. Controversial it may be but you speak true words from what I’ve read.
And I don’t blame you for giving up on this challenge. It’s mostly a waste of time for veterans like yourself.

Cheers man! 🙂 From time to time though you will get the odd dickhead in my comment section barking threats, it’s rare these days, but I’ve been threatened off a few people! One memorable one was a BNP member! lol. I also get called everything ,Nazi, racist communist and everything else. I can guarantee you though, I aint a nazi or a racist in any way! In fact I aint a communist either! :P.

I’ve read your stuff and what you say makes sense… It might be controversial and people will not like it but the truth is sometimes hard to swallow.
I’m glad I met you because I can have lots of intellectual conversations and debates with you and I know I’ll learn a thing or two from you.
I already learned something from one of your blogs. I didn’t have time to leave a comment. I didn’t like it at first but it was the truth and I realised it soon enough and I took something away from it… So yeah, keep it up and write it. I don’t care what you are as long as you right it as it is. Make me challenge the world and my perspective on matters regarding the world today.

Fair enough, man! 🙂
Just remember though, I aint always 100% right, I am sometimes wrong, as I’m only human and can get carried away when too much emotion is involved.
Looking forward to debating with you, too, Shaki! 🙂

Not saying you are mate. At the end of the day, it’s your opinion and I look forward to it too. I can become a heated debater so never take any offense to me becoming so. It is after all one opinion against the other. 😉
