I absolutely loved this anime!!! I have not had a chance to read the manga but I’ve heard that it is similar? (correct me if i’m wrong).
I used cheap pencil crayons to create this piece ^_^
Goes to show that you don’t need much to create something half decent.
I put a lot of emphasis on the lighting and shading and in the small details of the drawing itself!
Looks awesome! I like the watery effect around the books

Fullmetal Alchemist (the anime) is similar to the manga…. If you watched Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood. If you watched the original, drop everything you’re doing and watch Brotherhood right now! The first ten or so episodes may feel a little redundant, but after that, it gets so amazing. The original series can’t even touch Brotherhood (mostly because the original strayed from the manga a lot) . Trust me!

So true, you need to watch Brotherhood to see how amazing this anime is.

I just started watching it myself after Ash recommended it to me as well as many others. It was on my list to watch so just entered that world. Awesome first Episode I reckon. Can’t wait to watch more.

That drawing is very well done, makes me wanna go try and make something like that myself. I’m not the most artistic of people but I can make decent work when I really try (though I think the only drawing I’ve made that I’m really fond of is one I made of Pride for, go figure, Fullmetal Alchemist; the manga Pride that is, not the first anime’s one).
And having read the manga and seen both of the anime adaptations, Brotherhood is very close to the manga for the most part, though the beginning does shift the order of a few events around (like presenting some of the flashback material for Ed and Al much earlier than the manga did). I personally enjoyed the manga more than Brotherhood (likely because I read FMA before I gave either anime a serious watch), though Brotherhood is not a bad adaptation of the manga by any means. It just feels pretty slow to go through 64 episodes in comparison to a 27 volume manga, even if the pacing isn’t necessarily the anime’s fault but rather my own for not watching nearly enough as quickly as I should have. I blame school for that one….

Make something and share with us! FMA is brill and Im guessing the hollywood adaptations being shoddy compared to the amazing book theyre based on thing applies to manga and anime as well! I havn’t read much manga (i blame school for this also :P) but after reading your comment i think i’ll have a read of the FMA manga too!
