As a huge FIFA Geek, I have decided to post weekly updates on Fifa and I’ll start with my BPL Team of the Week Series.
Week 6 concluded and here are my picks for this week
Hugo Lloris was outstanding against Arsenal in the North London Derby. He produced some amazing saves the most notable was the powerful header from Per Mertesacker just managing to keep it on the right side of the line. No doubt the best keeper this week.
Phil Jagielka screamer which could well be up for the goal of the season contender was a no-brainer in this weeks pick. Overall solid defensively in the Merseyside Derby.
Leighton Baines provided some renowned crosses into the box which weren’t taken advantage of. Often overlooked the fact that he has such good deliveries into the box he makes our last 11.
Callum Chambers has a promising future at only 19 years of age. moving from Southampton for an undisclosed fee one can only imagine his worth several years down the line. He paired up fantastically well with The Ox on the right wing. What caught my eye was his technique when striking for goal this weekend.
Oxlade-Chamberlain was the spark arsenal where craving to beat on form Lloris. Everything good came from him and it was only fitting that he should score the equaliser.
Steven Gerrard stepped up his game in the Merseyside Derby scoring a classic free kick which we all know he is capable of. His critics maybe silenced for now!
Wayne Rooney scored an excellent reflex goal at an awkward angle provided by Rafael’s cross. Wayne has overtaken Thierry Henry and is placed 3rd in the most goals scored by a player in the BPL with 176 goals.
Willian assisted the first goal and scored the third as Chelsea romped home to an easy victory over Aston villa. Diego Costa netted another goal making his tally 8 for the season, meanwhile Willian both scored his first goal this weekend.
Sergio Aguero is still that little tank in front of the nets firing home goals for fun. This week he managed to assist Dzeko and net himself a goal. He was pretty lively finding space and creating chances in a close game against the hammers.
Edin Dzeko was fearless at the goalmouth today. whizzing a shot past McGregor for his first goal and then for to score the third to put man city in front again after conceding two goals.
Graziano Pelle is paired up with Dzeko up front because of his amazing finish against QPR. Earlier in the game Austin also completed a very similar touch and swivel goal but Pelle blew it out of the water leaping in the air over the defender to smash the ball home, making it absolutely awesome finish.
There’s one more award id like to mention before I wrap this up.
Worst player of the Weekend
This ones easy… Eliaquim Mangala of Man City.
After having an excellent game against Chelsea and Costa. This weekend he netted an own goal from what was a pretty harmless cross and to make things worse he then concedes a penalty levelling the score and adding extra pressure up front.
If you want to score that bad just ask Dzeko for some tips but remember to put it in the right goal!!
Stay tuned for next weeks BPL Team of the week
