Following on from my introduction, I thought I might give some insight into what I like, really like, dislike and loath.

1. Who is your favourite male anime character?
This is a toughie but I have to say Nagate Tanikaze from the series Knights of Sidonia. Mech shows will always attract my attention, this one in particular being no exception. With an interesting past and amazing pilot skills he ranks #1 in my book. His Garde, (Mech), the ‘Tsugumori’ also happens to be a beast. Not literally but.. yeah.
(Some honourable mentions being Spike from Cowboy Bebop and of course Pazu from Laputa: Castle in the Sky)
2. Who is your favourite female character?
Nausicaa from the Ghibli Comics/Film. The pinnacle of female independence. She is also a member of the elite ‘Ghibli Princess’ circle. Short-red hair, a fox-squirrel as a pet, and her method of transportation is a glider. Need I say more.
3. What is your favourite anime soundtrack?
No Game No Life’s music is pretty good. The techno style really does fit quite well, not to mention it sounds amazing! Some may not agree but some of the tracks were good enough that I sought them out to hear them again.
(The RWBY soundtrack is just as good but in this case NGNL clinched it. Nisekoi’s soundtrack would be a deserved second to these two.)
4. What is your favourite anime opening + animation?
There are a lot of well done openings but I think for me its got to be Mekakucity Actors. The visuals and the accompanying music make for a very good first impression to those new to the series.
(Deadman Wonderland is a very close second with Shingeki no Bahamut GENESIS following suit.)
5. What is your favourite anime ending song + animation?
I’ll be cheeky and put down two for this one . . .
Firstly, Aldnoah.Zero because of how good that song is. While some have gripes with the protagonist of this title, I do like the Gurren Lagann style progression of ‘tough enemy wrecking us, nevermind we can just beat him and move on’. Good series and good tunes.
Secondly, .hack//Sign because of how soothing it is. Not many can sit down and enjoy the laid back and slow progression of a ‘.hack//Sign’ title. While they do move at almost a snail’s pace, it’s a refreshing and welcome change of pace. The series seems rather content in it’s niche.
(As a sidenote, I will include the ending sequence for ‘Isuca’. Quality. ♪(／^-^)／☆♪)
6. What is your favourite anime scene?
This might seem boring to some, but it has to be the scene from Knights of Sidonia when the Gardes shoot out of the launch tubes. It isn’t very often a Mech series gives you that sort of insight. I do not drool every time I see it either. ┐(‘～`；)┌
7. If you could meet an anime character who would it be?
I can’t really think of any… I’d go with Holo from Spice & Wolf.
8. What anime character is most similar to you in terms of personality?
It’d have to be Sokka from Aang: The Last Airbender. I can always relate to the comedic relief. While I may not be as funny as Sokka, it gives me something to aspire to.
9. What is your favourite thing about anime?
It may not always be the case but I truly admire it when a good idea comes together with a high quality animation team and they produce something special. Bonus marks for a good opening or ending. We go into the ‘everyone wins’ round if both opening and ending are good, which is very rare.
10. What is your least favourite thing about anime?
Desu. Because, Desu. It’s annoying, Desu. Know what I mean, Desu?
Let’s not even go into those half arsed CGI portions.
11.Who is your favourite anime couple?
More often than not the protagonist will usually pick the wrong guy/girl, in my opinion, and not only alienate the audience for plot convenience but just ruin the entirety of the story up to that point. Which is why I am going to cheat a little and say that the couple I’ll choose is from Amagami SS. Junichi x (insert 1 of 6 names here). All of the arcs end well and the girls all have their own appeal.
12. Who is your favourite anime animal?
Hans from Valkyria Chronicles. Nothing like a little Piggy saying “Buhi” to alleviate the horrors and seriousness of war, am I right?
13. What anime would make a good game?
Knights of Sidonia. Obviously. MECHS+SPACE+MAKE IT HAPPEN.
14. What game would make a good anime?
Personally I think the any of the titles from the Ace Combat series would make a good anime. There are some pretty solid plots in the games with stories that really draw the player in. Despite it being essentially about fighter plane dog fights, a lot of drama surrounds the events of each mission.
15. What was the first anime you ever watched?
While I couldn’t say for sure, I’d be leaning more towards Tenchi Muyo. The original series is rather dated now but it’s still makes for a very good watch even today. A revival series was released as recent as last year and from what I hear it was received rather well.
16. Do you think you’ll ever stop watching anime?
I highly doubt it. If I ever do I reckon it’ll be because something better will be about. And that will be an interesting day indeed…
17. What is your favourite genre of anime?
Mechas, harems, action, fantasy etc.
Good story, good characters, good times.
18. What is your least favourite genre of anime?
‘Slice of life’. Some of them are okay but overall? Egh.
19. Are you open about watching anime with people you know?
Yeah of course. I may not be totally honest about the ones I watch but they know its an interest of mine.
20. Have you ever been to Japan?
I haven’t. While I would like to go there some day I won’t exactly feel too badly if I never get to go.
21. What anime was the biggest let down for you?
It would have to be Isuca. Good idea but executed so poorly. If you’re having trouble sleeping maybe turn it off before bed. It’ll make you yawn like you’ve never yawned before. The only reason I come back to this title is for the ending song.
(Don’t be fooled! It’s terrible!)
22. What anime was better than expected?
I went into Hyouka with some hesitance, I will admit. To my surprise though, it turned out to be quite good. It is one of my stow away favourites.
23. What is the best anime fight scene?
I was very late to the RWBY fan train and after having seen everything to date it has to be said that the fight scenes in RWBY are some of the best I have ever seen.
Before I had seen RWBY however, Kurokami was what I would have rated highest. Badass chick with fingerless gloves delivering a very Merry Fistmas to all the naughty baddies.
24. Who is your anime waifu?
I’m not one of those guys who generally seeks out a ‘waifu’ because I don’t really fanboy/fangirl that hard about it.
Being pressed for it though, I’d have to say Yui from K-On! Why? How? Who knows.
25. What was your favourite video game as a child?
It’s a toss up between Crash Bandicoot and Spyro. I was lucky enough to have gotten to play them before they became, y’know, “egh”…

26. Most Embarrassing moment?
According to my friends now, not me, I once got really drunk and rolled across a road saying “I’m a fish.” I’m doubtful it happened. >_>
27a. Can you drive?
Not yet, but I’m in the process of learning.
27b. Do you own a car?
Do toy ones count?
28. Are you mature?
If by mature you mean ‘responsible adult’, then no. Very much a no. If, however, you mean old enough to be arrested for things, then yes. Very much yes.
29. What year were you born?
- The year of Beanie Babies, Jurassic Park and Bill Clinton.
30. Do you prefer cats or dogs?
Dogs. Dogs until such a time that cats can fetch papers and not be horrible little fur balls that claw and bite you just because they can.
31. Describe yourself physically.
A lean, ‘mean’, tea drinking machine. With a ginger beard.
32. What would you name your first child?
‘Legen’. Followed by their siblings ‘Wait For it’ & ‘Dary’.
For serious though, if it’s a boy I’d probably name him after an older male relative in the family. If it’s a girl I’d probably name her after a flower.
33. What is the worst injury you have ever had?
When I was about 7 my family and I were on holiday and staying in a hotel. During our stay we went down to the pool area to swim and stuff, as you do. While playing around in one of the smaller circular pools I ‘slipped’ and went face first into the side of the pool, smacking my face of the edge. The impact sliced my top lip in, almost, two. After a brief stay in a hospital I was fine. Got some stitches put in and it was sorted, sort of. It was about two weeks before I could eat ‘okay-ish’. To this day I still have a swelling in my lip from where it the hit the pool’s edge.
A battle scar, of course.
34. What is your worse habit?
Overdosing on tea, over use of sarcasm, procrastination, overly judgmental.

35. Do you drink or smoke?
- Yes and 2. only when I drink a lot.
36. Do you have a tattoo?
No. Not a fan of the whole tattoo thing. Some people ‘need’ it, I get that, and that’s fine.
37. Are you a morning person or a night person?
Depends on the day of the week.
38. Have you ever slept past midday?
Yes. Not a fan of it though.
39. Do you regret anything?
Lots of things. Sure. My biggest regret is often when I don’t do something that I meant to do. Like buy more milk or other things.
40. Can you count the number of friends you have on one hand?
Including thumbs or..? I probably could, yeah.
41. Do you wear glasses?
Yes. I often need them for reading etc.
42. Are you a picky eater?
I’d say I am, quite a bit. I’ll give things a go though. You can keep your Brussels sprouts, however. >_>
43. Would you die for someone?
If it meant the person I save vows to avenge me, definitely.
44. If you could have any superpower, what would it be?
I’d love to be an air-bender like Aang. I’m sure that counts.
45. Do you believe in the supernatural?
Ghosts yes. Zombies no. Werewolves no. Vampires no. Mummies no.
Big foot, maybe. Abominable snowman, perhaps. Nessie yes.
46. Would you rather be rich or famous?
I’d rather be rich from being famous than be famous for being rich.
47. Have you ever committed a crime?
I think I stole a lollipop when I was 10..?
48. Pirate or Ninja?
Pirate. Sword, pistol and sweet ass galleon for life.
49. Does someone have a crush on you?
If they do they haven’t told me anyway. I’m always the last to know. =/
50. Are you in a relationship?
I am not. Lot of effort sure.
